ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 271, BEING AN ORDINANCE
ESTABLISHING ZONING REGULATIONS FOR THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE,
FLORIDA, AND PROVIDING FOR THE ADMINISTRATION, ENFORCEMENT
AND AMENDMENT THEREOF PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER
176, FLORIDA STATUTES, 1953.
Whereas, Application has been made by Dewey Herndon, Pastor of Church of
God aid the Trustees of the Church of God, requesting this Council to rezone
from
esidential. (R -1) to Commercial, Lots 1, 2, 3 and i, Block 40, First
Addition to South Okeechobee, and
Whereas, Notice of intention to amend City Zoning Ordinance No. 271 re-
garding said application was duly published according to law, and
Whereas, on the 3rd day of October, 1961, a public hearing was held in
the City Council Room pursuant to said notice, and
Whereas, it is deemed to the best interest of the City of Okeechobee to
grant
said application; now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA:
Se4tion 1. That Lots 1, 2, 3 and 14, Block 40, First Addition to South
Okeechobee, be and is hereby rezoned from Residential (R -1) to Commercial,
effecive October 3, 1961.
Sedtion 2. That the application requesting rezoning and proof of pub -
lication of notice to amend zoning Ordinance Igo. 271 published in connection
with the above application be attached to this Ordinance and become a part
hereof.
Sedtion 3. That the City Clerk make the appropriate change on the City
Zoning Map in accordance with this Ordinance.
Passed and adopted this 3rd day of October, 1961.
