ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 271, BEING AN ORDINANCE
ESTABLISHING ZONING REGULATIONS FOR THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE,
FLORIDA, AND PROVIDING FOR THE ADMINISTRATION, ENFORCEMENT
AND AMENDMENT THEREOF PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER
#.76, FLORIDA STATUTES, 1953.
Whereas, Application has been made by Markham Brothers and
Compaty, requesting this Council to rezone front RESIDENTIAL (R -1)
to INDUSTRIAL, Beginning at a point where the North boundary of
Third Street intersects the West boundary of Okeechobee Avenue,
accer ing to the plat of Okeechobee recorded in Plat Beek 2,
page 7, St. Lucie County records and First Addition to Okeechobee
recorded in Plat Book 2, page 26, St. Lucie County records; thence
run North along the West boundary of Okeechobee Avenue te the
South boundary of South Park Street; thence West along the South
boundary of South Park Street, a distance of 280 feet more er
less to the East boundary of land described in Deed Book 60, page
409, Public records of Okeechobee County, Florida; thence South
along the East boundary of land described in said Deed Beek 60,
page 09, to the North boundary of Fifth Avenue projected West;
these East, a distance of 80 feet, more or less, te the West
bound y of Block 251, if projected North; thence South along
said rejected West boundary of Block 251 t• the North boundary

Street to the point of beginning. All lying and being in Section
21 of Township 37 South, range 35 East, and

Whereas, on the 16th day of January, 1962, a public hearing
was held in the City Council Room pursuant to said Reties, and
Whereas, it is deemed to the best interest of the City of
Okeechobee to grant said application; now, therefore
IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE,
FLORIDA:

Okeechobee Avenue, according to the plat of Okeechobee recorded

Addition te Okeechobee recorded in Plat Beek 2, page 26, St.
Lucia County records; thence run North along the West boundary
of O eeehcbee Avenue to the South boundary of South Park Street;
these West along the South boundary of South Park Street, a
dicta ce of 280 feet more or less to the East boundary of land
dese bed in Deed Book 60, page 409, public records of Okeechobee
Country, Florida; thence South along the East boundary of land
described in said Deed Beek 60, page 409, to the North boundary
of Firth Avenue projected West; thence East, a distance of 80
feet, more or less, to the West boundary of Block 251, if pro -
jected North; thence South along said projected West boundary
of Block 251 to the North boundary of Third Street; thence East
along the Werth boundary of Third Street to the point of beginning.
All lying and being in Section 21 of Township 37 South, Range 35
East, be and is hereby rezoned from Residential (R -1) to Industrial,
effective January 16, 1962.
Section 2. That the application requesting rezoning
and goof of publication of notice to amend zoning Ordinance No.
271 published in connection with the above application be
attached to this Ordinance and become a part hereof.

on the City Zoning Map in accordance with this Ordinance.
