AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 271 BEING AN
ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING ZONING REGULATIONS FOR THE
CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA.
Whereas, application has been made by Jesse R. Watford
requesting this Council to rezone from Residential (R -1) to
Commercial, the following described land, and
Whereas, Notice of Intention to Amend City Zoning
Ordinance No. 271 regarding said application was duly published
according to law, and
Whereas, on the 4th day of laggaig February, m,„ 1964, a public hearing 1
was held in the City Council Room pursuant to said Notice,
and,
Whereas, it is deemed to the best interest of the City
of Okeechobee to grant said application.
NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Ordained By the City Council of the
City of Okeechobee, Florida:
Section 1. That
Beginning 921.5 feet South of NE Corner of
SE4 of Section 21, Township 37 South, Range
35 East, and run South 293.3 feet along
Section line to a point 1426 feet North from
the SE Corner of said SE4 of said Section 21;
run thence West at right angles 361 feet,
more or less, to the East boundary of Parrott
Avenue in the City of Okeechobee, run thence
North along Parrott Avenue 293.3 feet, run
thence East at right angles 361 feet, more or
less to the point of beginning.
be and is hereby rezoned from Residential (R -1) to Commercial

effective 1964, provided however that said land is
rezoned for use of motel purposes only and further provided
that plans for construction, properly approved by the governing
state agency, be presented to this City Council within three
(3) months of the date of the Ordinance and, provided further
that construction of said motel begin within six (6) months
of the date of this Ordinance and be completed within eighteen
(18) months of the date of this Ordinance, otherwise This
Ordinance shall become void and of no effect and the real
property hereby rezoned shall revert to its former classification
Section 2. That the Application requesting rezoning and
the Proof of Publication of Notice to Amend Zoning Ordinance
No. 271 published in connection with the above application
be attached with this Ordinance and become a part hereof.
Section 3. That the City Clerk make the appropriate
change on the City Map in accordance with this Ordinance.
