PROTEST AGAINST AMENDMENT TO ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 271
OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE
WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, all being property owners and residents
of the City of Okeechobee, hereby petition the City Council of the
City of Okeechobee to deny and to refuse the application to re -zone
the following described property, located in the City of Okeechobee,
County of Okeechobee, State of Florida, and more particularly
described as follows:
Lots 1 through 12 inclusive, Block
30, FIRST ADDITION TO SOUTH OKEECHOBEE.
from R -1 to Commercial, a hearing on which application will be held
at 5:15 P. M. on January 19, 1965, before your Honorable Body, in
accord with the legal notice published in "The Okeechobee News ",
on December 31, 1964.
Our rdason for opposing the amendment to re -zone the above
described property is that the adjacent and adjoining property is
residential, and that the operation of a commercial establishment
on the above described property will become a nuisance to the
neighborhood, and will detract from the area as a residential
neighborhood, and lower the value of the property for residential
purposes, and damage the property owners in the adjoining neighbor-
hood by lessening the value of their property.
All of the undersigned own property in the general neighborhood
of the property sought to be re- zoned, and many of the undersigned
own property within 500 feet of the property sought to be re- zoned,
and the undersigned in the latter category have a description of
their property following their signature on this Petition.
DATED this Day of January, A. D. 1965.
