ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 40a, BEING AN ORDINANCE
ES`ABLISHING ZONING REGULATIONS FOR THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE,
FLORIDA, AND PROVIDING FOR THE ADMINISTRATION, ENFORCEMENT,
AND AMENDMENT THEREOF PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER
176, FLORIDA STATUTES, 1953.
WHEREAS, application has been made by Louis DeMicco requesting
this Council to rezone from Industrial to Commercial, and
WHEREAS, notice of intention to amend City Zoning Ordinance

regarding said application was duly published according
to law, end
WHEREAS, on the 25th day of April , 1978, a
public hearing was held in the City Council Room pursuant to
said notice, and
WHEREAS, it is deemed to the best interest of the City of
Okeechobee to grant said application; now therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Block 14, Lot 25, Original Town of Okeechobee,
be and is hereby rezoned from Industrial to Commercial, effective
April 25th , 1978.
SECTION 2. That the application requesting rezoning and
proof o' 'publication to amend Zoning Ordinance No, yo,? published
in conndction with the above application be attached to this Ordinance
and became a part hereof.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk make the appropriate change
on the C ity Zoning Map in accordance with this Ordinance.

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of the
y of Okeechobee, Florida, a municipal corporation, will
consider rezoning from Industrial to Commercial and to
amend accordingly the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance #271
ad pted November 21, 1955, the following described real
property, situate, lying and being within the corporate limits
of' the City of Okeechobee, Florida, to -wit:
Block 14, Lot 25, Original Town of Okeechobee,
and that a public hearing in relation thereto will be held

SECOND REGULAR MEETING TUESDAY, APRIL 25, 1978
The City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, convened in
Regular Session in the Council Chambers at the City Hall, Okeechobee,
Florida, at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 25, 1978.
President Russell V. Domer presiding.
Councilmen Lavon Bass, Edward W. Douglas, Jim Knight and Lytle
Raulerson were present.
Others present were: Audley Dunham, Mayor; L. C. Fortner, Jr.,
Director of Public Works; David Conlon, City Attorney; Phillip Purvis,
Lieutenant Police Department; Richard Spray, Building Official; Sylvia
Christian, Acting City Clerk and Shirley Williams, Deputy Clerk.
The Invocation was offered by Councilman Jim Knight.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
It was moved by Councilman Bass, seconded by Councilman Raulerson
and vote carried that the minutes of April 11, 1978 be approved as
recorded,
PUBLIC HEARING
ZONING ORDINANCE - DEMICCO - FINAL HEARING
President Domer presented the final reading on rezoning of property
described as Lot 25 Block 14, Original Town of Okeechobee. From Industrial
to Commercial.
President Domer asked if there were any objections to the requested
rezoning. No objections were heard or filed.
Councilman Bass moved to rezone the above described property as re-
.tested and to amend Ordinance No. 271, seconded by Councilman Knight and
vote carried.
PUBLIC HEARING
BID TABULATION - CITY DOG POUND
It being the hour of seven o'clock P.M. and pursuant to a notice
published April 13th and 20th, 1978 sealed bids were received, opened and
read for the construction of a City Dog Pound.
A bid of $7,132 dollars was submitted from Quality Builders.
President Domer stated there was $5,000 dollars budgeted for this
project.
Following discussion Councilman Bass moved to table action for further
study, seconded by Councilman Knight and vote carried.
PUBLIC HEARING
BID TABULATION - PAVING PARKING AREA
It being the hour of seven fifteen o'clock P.M. and pursuant to a
notice published April 13th, and 2Oth, 1978 sealed bids were received,
opened and read for the Paving of the City Hall Parking Lot.
