ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4Q , BEING AN ORDINANCE
ESTABLISHING ZONING REGULATIONS FOR THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE,
FLORIDA, AND PROVIDING FOR THE ADMINISTRATION, ENFORCEMENT
AND AMENDMENT THEREOF PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER

WREREAS, application has been made by Haynes E. Williams
requesting this Council to rezone from RG -2 to Commercial,

hearing was held in the City Council room pursuant to said

WIEREAS, it is deemed to the best interest of the City of

FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Lots 2 & 3 Block 441 be an is hereby rezoned
from RO -2 to Commercial, effective July 25th , 1918.
SECTION 2. That the application requesting rezoning and proof
of publication to amend Zoning Ordinance No. Ilov? published in connection
with the above application be attached to this Ordinance and become
a part hereof.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk make the appropriate change on
the C
y Zoning Map in accordance with this Ordinance.

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of the City of
Okeechobee, Florida, a municipal corporation, will consider rezoning
from RC -2 to Commercial and to amend accordingly the Comprehensive
Zoning Ordinance #271 adopted November 21, 1955, the following described
real property, situate, lying and being within the corporate limits of
the City of Okeechobee, Florida, to -wit:
Block 141; Lots 2 & 3,
and that a public hearing xa- relation thereto will be held at 7:00
P.M., on the 25th day of July, 1978 in the City Council Room, City

SECOND REGULAR MEETING TUESDAY, JULY 25, 1971
The City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, convened in
,Regular Session in the Council Chambers at the City Hall, Okeechobee,
Elorida, at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 25, 1978.
President Russell V. Dourer presiding.
Councilmen Lavon Bass, Edward W. Douglas, Jim Knight and Lytle
kaulerson were present.
Others present were: Audley Dunham, Mayor; David Conlon, City
Attorney; L. C. Fortner, Jr., Director of Public Works; E. H. Reutebuch,
Assistant Fire Chief; Sylvia Christian, Acting City Clerk and Lola
Parker, Deputy Clerk.
The Invocation was offered by Councilman Edward W. Douglas.

2 ,'STING ORDINANCE - HALES - FINAL HEARING
President Domer presented the final hearing on rezoning of pro -
petty described as Block 34, Lots 7,8,9 and 10. From RSF to Commercial.
President Domer asked if there were any objections to the re-
q ested rezoning. No objections were heard or filed.
Councilman Douglas moved to rezone the above described property
a$ requested and to amend Ordinance No. 271, seconded by Councilman
Raulerson and vote carried.
aBILIC HEARING
Z N NG ORDINANCE - WILLIAMS - FINAL HEARING
President Domer presented the final hearing on rezoning of property
described as Block 141, Lots 2 and 3. From RG -2 to Commercial.

President Domer asked if there were any objections to the requested
rezoning. No objections were heard or filed.
Councilman Raulerson moved to rezone the above described property
as requested and to amend Ordinance No. 271, seconded by Councilman
Knight and vote carried.
PUBLIC HEARING
ZONING ORDINANCE - EUBANKS - FINAL HEARING
President Domer presented the final hearing on rezoning of property
described as Block 252, Lots K and L. From RG -2 to RMH.
President Domer asked if there were any objections to the requested
rezoning. No objections were heard or filed.
Councilman Knight moved to rezone the above described property as
requested and to amend Ordinance No. 271, seconded by Councilman Douglas
and vote carried.
ALLEYWAY REQUEST - BLOCK 12
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Miller appeared before the Council requesting fill
dirt in the alleyway located in Block 15 South West Addition.
Director Fortner stated it would take from a foot to 18 inches to
bring it level with their property.
Councilman Knight moved to authorize Director Fortner to put adequate
fill in alley, seconded by Councilman Raulerson and vote carried.
The Miller's also request a 99 year lease on this alleyway. The other
persons involved are James D. Giles and Larry Mobley.
Following a lengthy discussion Councilman Raulerson moved to grant
99 year lease to the three parties on alleyway with rights reserved for
Utility Easements and a thirty day clause of cancellation in case of
needing the alleyway for more utilities, seconded by Councilman Douglas
and vote carried.
OKEECHOBEE RECREATIONAL ASSOCIATION
Dr. Frank Platt appeared before the Council requesting a donation
of $20,000 dollars for the Okeechobee Recreational Association.
Following a lengthy discussion President Domer informed that the
Okeechobee Recreational Associations request would be given every con-
sideration as the Council meets in their Budget Sessions.
FIRE DEPARTMENT
1. RESIGNATION
Assistant Fire Chief Reutebuch submitted resignation from Jowell L.
Bass, effective July 27, 1978.
Following discussion Councilman Raulerson moved to accept the res-
ignation of Jowell L. Bass, effective July 27, 1978, seconded by Council-
man Bass and vote carried.
