1977-02-25 Special SPECIAL MEETING FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 2~, 1977
The City Council of the City of 0keechobee, Florida, convened in special
session at 1:30 P.M. on Friday, February 25, 1977. President Russell.~V. Domer
presiding. Councilmen Edward Douglas, Jim Knight, Lytle Raulerson, and Lavon
Bass were present. Others present were: Audley Durnham, Mayor; Sandra Bennett,
City Clerk; Larry Mobley, Acting Chief of Police.
POLICE VEHICLES
President Domer declared the special meeting convened and explained the
reason for the special called meeting: To discuss a critical situation of
Police Vehicles.
President Domer reported that two of the Police Vehicles were beyond re-
pairing and another vehicle needed a valve job. He stated that after conferring
with the City Attorney the antirecession funds could be used fo~ the. purchase
of Police Vehicles as it is a continuation of basic services.
Following a lengthy discussion, Councilman Bass moved to purchase two (2)
1977 Yehicles through the antirecession funds, and authorized Chief Mobley to
advertise for bids, seconded by Councilman Knight and carried. Councilman
Douglas voted nay.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, President Domer declared the meeting
adjourned at 2:10 P.M.
