WORKSHOP MEETING THURSDAY~ JANUARY 27, 1977
The City Council of the City of 0keechobee, Florida convened in a work-
shop meeting at 6:50 P.M. on Thursday, January 27, 1977. President Russell
V. Domer presiding. Councilmen Jim Knight and Lytle Raulerson were present.
Councilmen Larch Bass and Edward Douglas were absent. Others present were:
Sandra Bennett, City Clerk; L. C. Fortner, Director of Public Works; and
Don Shepherd, Engineer.
HOSPITAL CORPORATION OF AMERICA
Don Shepherd~ Engineer, appeared before the Council to discuss a sewer
line extension on North 441 to the new hospital site.
Following a lengthy discussion the Council agreed to accept the sewage
flow from the new hospital that is to be built by Hospital Corporation of
America provided the following terms are agreed to in a contract:
1. HCA to install a force main from HCA property to the existing 12"
gravity main located in the alley between North Park Street and North Second
Street. The connection to be made by installing a manhole in the 12" main.
2. HCA to be solely responsible for operation and maintenance of force
main and lift station.
5. HCA will not allow any other facility to connect to lift station with-
out consent of the City of 0keechobee.
4. City to reserve the right to review the plans and specifications
before a contract is awarded. City to inspect construction of force main _.~
and witness pressure and leakage test.
5. HCA to pay to the City a plant capacity charge of $12,000.00. This
charge based on 15,000 gallons per day flow at $.80 per gallon.
