Signed, scale and definer e1 in our presence: 1 c`. JAMES R. TENNISWOOD, D.D.S. April 22, 1982 Dear Mrs. Westbrook and members of the City Planning Council: I received your letter regarding the rezoning of prop- erty (lots 1 -12 inclusive block 121), from residential single family to commercial. There have been three parcels of land, in this general area that have been recently rezoned commercial. I feel that this may have prompted this person to ask for rezoning in hopes of being able to sell this land to parties interested in place- ment of a Hardware store here. I would like to point out that in all of these cases that were zoned commercial, it was strickly for professional office buildings. The reason for this was so the boundries that go along with being zoned commercial could be used. I feel that a Hardware store, in this area, is too commer- cial considering the area is primarily churches, single family dwellings and professional office buildings. I would also like to point out that once the land is zoned commercial, a truck stop or some similar commercial venture could be placed on the remaining land at a later time. I feel this is setting a bad precident and would simply open the door for devalu- ation of the property in the area. I do strongly oppose the re- zoning of the land in question, to commercial property for the placement of a hardware store. Sincerely, James R.
