The City Council of the City of 0keechobee, Florida, convened in regular
session at the City Hall on the 23rd day of December, 1975 at 7:00 P.M. with the
following present: President Russell Domer, Councilmen: E. H. Hunt, Edward W.
DouKlas and Lavon Bass. Councilman Clif Betts was absent.
A rezoning application was received from Edward W. Douglas, requesting
that Lots 18 and 19, Block 163, Original Town of 0keechobee, be rezoned from
Residential (R-2) to Commercial. Councilman Bass moved to advertise Notice of
Public Hearing to consider the rez0ning, seconded by Councilman Hunt and carried.
Councilman Douglas refrained from voting, due to conflict of interest.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO AMEND CITY ZONING ORDINANCE #271
NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of the
City of 0keechobee, Florida, a municipal corporation, will
consider rezoning from Residential (R-2) to Commercial and
to amend accordingly the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance #271
adopted November 21, 1955, the following described real
property, situate, lying and being within the corporate
limits of the City of 0keechobee, Florida, to-wit:

and that a public hearing in relation thereto will be held

Police Chief Chisholm presented an outstanding employee performance
evaluation on Patrolman Marion Stafford in the Police Department and ~gu~stG~
that he be promoted to Sergeant 11 with an increase in salary of $200.00.
Councilman Douglas moved to promote Stafford to Sergeant 11 and increase his salary
$200.00, effective immediately, seconded by Councilman Hunt and carried.
The Clerk was asked for her items of business. She presented specifi-
cations on an Electric Accounting Machine system for the Councils approval to

advertise for bids. Councilman Douglas moved to advertise for bids, seconded
by Councilman Hunt and carried.
The City Council of the City of 0keechobee, Florida,
will receive sealed bids at the City Council room in the
City Hall, Okeechobee, Florida, until 7:00 P.M., January
20, 1976, for the purpose of selecting an Electronic
Accounting Machine System.
Specifications may be obtained at the City Clerk's
office, Okeechobee, Florida.
Ail bids shall be in sealed envelopes plainly
marked "Sealed Bid for Accounting Machine'
The City Council reserves the right to reject any
or ail bids for any reason whatsoever.

Chief Chisholm presented bills from Dr. Candido P. Aragon, M.D. for
$160.00 and 0keechobee General Hospital for $1,166.95 in treatment of prisoner,
James Warren Funderburg, in March 3, 1975. He stated that the prisoner had
been released prior to entering the hospital but no record of his releasment
was filed, therefore, the hospital and Dr. Aragon were holding the City
responsible for the bills. After discussion, Councilman Douglas moved to ~-~
authorize the payment to Dr. Aragon and requested Attorney Conlon to investigate
the City's responsibility of the hospital bill, seconded by Councilman Hunt and
carried.
Chief Chisholm reported that both typewriters in the Police Department
were in need of repairs or replaced and requested authorization tp purchase a
Remington standard typewriter for $150.00. Councilman Hunt moved to authorize
the purchase of the typewriter, seconded by Councilman Douglas and carried.
There being no further business, the Council adjourned at 7:30 P.M.
