I~ ALDLEY DUNHAM, Mayor of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, do hereby call a special
meeting of the City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, to be held at the Council
Chamber, wzthin the Czty of Okeechobee, on the 31st day of March, A.D. 1975, at the hour
of !:00 P.M. for the purpose:
Changing specifications on two new 1975 police cars and such
o~her matters as may be brought before such meeting at the
discretion of the City Council
You, and each of you are hereby requested and notified to be at and attend the agore-
said meeting at the place herein named.

The meeting was called in due form in accordance wit~ Charter and upon written
notlce signed by each Councilman.
The City Council of the City of Okeechobee~ Florida, met in special session at
the City Hall on the above date at 1:00 P.M.~ with the following present: Mayor Audley
Durhham~ President Russell V. Domer~ Councilmen: E. H. Hunt~ Edward Douglas~ Lavon Bass
and Clif Betts, Jr. Also present were City Clerk Sandra Bennett, Chief of Police Dewitt
Staats and Lieutenant Larry Mobley.
~resident Domer stated that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss changing
the specifications on the bids for two 1975 automobiles for the Police Department to allow
all the Auto Dealers a chance to bid. He reported that Okeechobee Motor Company could
not bzd on the 350 cubic inch motor and 4 BBL Carb. as specified in the present bid.
At this tlme the Council recognized Mr. Dowling R. Watford~ owner of Okeechobee
Motor Company. He stated that his Company did not manufacture a 350 cubic inch motor auto-

mobile with 4 B~L Carb. He inquired if the Police Department couldn't use a 2 BBL Carb.
Lieutenant ~obley stated that he had discussed the difference of performance
between the 2 BBL Carb. and the 4 BBL Carb. with several mechanics and they had stated
th~ the 4 BBL (~arb. gave better performance.
After more discussion, Councilman Bass moved to change the specifications to
· nclude bothe 2 BBL Carb. and 4 BBL Carb.and authorized (:3~ief Staats to advertise
for bids, seconded by Councilman Douglas and carried.

Will receive sealed bids for the purchase of the following:
2 - 1975 Automobiles
Heavy Duty Police Body and Chassis, 4 Door Sedan, Tinted Glass
(All Windows) ~ower Disc Brakes, Minimum 350 Cubic Inch Motor,
Three Speed Hydromatic Transmission, Heavy Duty shock absorbers,
white over blue in color, radio and heater, air conditioned,
power steering, all vinyl trina interior, minimum ll8 inch wheel
bases hydraulic valve lifters, H-78 Fibre Glass Tires or Equal,
70 ANP Battery and heavy duty radiator, 4 BBL Carb.

Also Bid on sa~e specifications as above with the e~ception of
chan9Ing minimum wheel base from ll8 inch to ll9 inch.

Said bids will be opened in the Council chamber at the City Hall
in Okeechobee, Florida at 6:30 P.M. on April 10, 1975. The Council
reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to accept the proposal
deemed most advantageous to the City.
