Okeechobee Se~.ch ~ater AssociaLion and the City of Okeechobee specified a written notice on intention
to raise rate.~ one yea~' prior to chan~[in~. Councilman Hunt moved to authorize Atborney Curren to
notify Ok,=ech,~bee Beach Water by letter infor~ng them thaL the City of Okeechobee intends to chan~e
the wholesale ~atue of water fur~shed to the Association, seconded by Councilman Betts and carried.
A letter from the Okeechobee Chamber of Co~erce was read infor~ng the Council that the
Better Businer~s ~vision of the Char~ber of Commerce broughv to their attention that the City of
Okeechobee ta~.:i service in Okeechobee is questionable, due to the fact -they had no meters nor do
they post a~~ rates and requested the rity to adopt an ordinance requiring taxis to have meters and
or post rates in each vehicle. ~e Council instructed the Clerk to make copies of the Citys present
ordinance ~ow)rning taxis for each councilman for further study.
Preliminary work was accomplished on the 197h-7~ General budget and the water and sewer
budget.

The City Clerk presemted several applications for part time help in the City Clerk's office.

~ ~e City ~urcnase six unifo~s for each patrolman, ~dio Dispatcher and Fire man and pay the cost

The City Clerk was instructed to contact Mr. Lee Thomas, Certified Public Accountant of
· ~ Mc~lpin, urt~Ls and O'Haire for a meeting to discuss' finalizing the budget.
