AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THAT PART OF SECTION 5 OF ORDINANCE
N0.126 OF THE ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA,
RELATING TO THE LICENSES OF AUTOMATIC VENDING MACHINES; SAID
ORDINANCE NO. 126 BEING " AN ORDINANCE IMPOSING LICENSES AND
OTHER TAXES, PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT AND COLLECTION THEREOF
AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR DOING BUSINESS WITHOUT LICENSE
OR OTHER FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE PROVISIONS THEREOF." and
PROVIDING THAT GAMBLING MACHINES OR OTHER DEVICES SHALL NOT
BE AUTHORIZED TO OPERATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MATOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA:
SECTION ONE: That the portion of section 5 of Ordinance No. 126,
of the Ordinances of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, relating
to the license of AUTOMATIC VENDING MACHINES be, and the same
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"AUTOMATIC VENDINS MACHINES.— Automatic Vending
Machines, when operated for profit, shall pay a license tax of
Five ($5.00) Dollars for each machine or device: Provided, that
Automatic Vending Machines, vending drinking cups or postage
stamps and operated on railroad trains, steamboats or in railroad
stations or public waiting rooms, no city license tax shall be
required.!
SECTION TWO: The payment of a license for automatic vending
Machines shall not authorize or legalize gambling in any manner
whatsoever, and if any person, persons, firm or corporation Who
installs any gbling"'maohine or other gambling device or operates
same under a license obtained for automatic vending machines shall
forfeit such liose or licenses.

second reading.

Read a third time and passed in open session of the 'City
Council this 5th. day of May, A. D. 1931.
