AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.138 BEING AN ORDINANCE
PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF TAXES FOR THE CITY
OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA, FOR THE YEAR A. D. 1932.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA
Section 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 138 be amended to
read as follows: "Section 1. That the City of Okeechobee, Florida f
hereby levies a tax of thirty -five (35) mills on each dollar valua-
tion of real and personalpptoperty within the corporate limits of the
City of Okeechobee, Florida, subject to tax.tion on the first day of
January, A. D. 1932. Such tax shall be assessed and collected in the
manner provided by law."
Section 2. That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 138 be amended to read
as follows: "Section 2. That nineteen (19) mills of such tax shall
be used for general city purposes and shall be assessed for the General
Fund of said city; That One (1) mill of such tax shall be used for the
Interest and Sinking Fund of $17,500.00 of the Refunding Bond Issue of
1930; That ten (10) mills of such tax shall be used for the purpose
of paying X16, 500.00 interest coupons attached to 113 bonds of that
bond issue of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, known as City of Okee-
chobee Municipal Improvement Bonds, dated February 1, 1926, and issued
under the provisions of Ordinance No. 100 of the City of Okeechobee,
and which said tax levy is made pursuant to an alternative writ of
mandamus issued out of the Circuit Court of Okeechobee County, Florida,
upon the relation of H. J. Rice, on the 10th. day of October, 1932, requiri
ing a tax levy fox the, payment of the interest coupons which are in said
writ described; that five (5) mills of such tax shall be used for
Interest and Sinking Street Paving Time Warrant Fund, issue of 1921,
in the airount of $18, 000.00.`.
Section 3. That Section 3 "of said Ordinance shall be amended to read
as follows: "Section 3. It shall be the duty of the City Tax Collector
and the City Clerk to divide t1 proceeds received from said taxes
into the four funds as set out in the preceding Section and keep full
and correct account of the same as they may be directed by the City
Countil" .
Section 4+. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
