0140 (A Nuisance for owners of poultry )ORDINANCE N0./40 AN ORDINANCE, declaring it a nuisance for owners of poultry to permit same to run at large within the corporate limits of the City of Okeechobee, damaging the property of another; to provide for puntkhment for the violation of said ordinance. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA. Section 1. If any poultry running at large within the city limits of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, damages the property of any person, other than the owners of said poultry, and the person, whose property is so damaged, makes a complaint to the Mayor or Chief of Police of said City, the same shall be, and is hereby, declared a nuisance, and is expressly prohibited. Section 2. It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police, or any other police officer, when a complaint is made, to immediately notify the owner of such poultry 'rho shall take such steps as are necessary to prevent said poultry from running at large and damaging the property of any other person. Section 3. Any person who permits poultry owned by them, to run at large within the said City of Okeechobee, Florida, after having been notified by the Chief of Police of other police officer as provided in Section 2 of this Ordinance, upon con- viction shall be fined not less than 4,A1P4q and not more than %Lo VN or be imprisoned in the City Jail for not more than /U days, or both such fine and imprisonment, for each offence. Section 4. This Ordinance shall become effectiae inmediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. Section 5. All Ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Read a first time and by unanimous consent passed to a second reading. Read a second time and by unanimous consent passed to a third and final reading.
