0170 (Motor Vehicles)ORDINANCE NO. 170 AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE THE OPERATION OF MOTOR DRIVEN AND OTHER VEHICLES WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS. OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA, AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE 'ENFORCE- MENT AND PUNISHMENT FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. Ito persons shall operate a. motor • vehicad within. the City off' O17:.)cchobee2 Florida, recklessly'` or at a rate of speed; .mitr of greater than is reasonable andproper, having regard to the width, train*' use of tho streets and highways, or so as to endanger the property or ttf limb of any person., Provided that a rate of speed in excesa of t*entl4 per hour in the residential portion of the City o f Okeechobee, Florit1, rate oc speed in excess of fifteen miles per hour in the business pore k. said City; shall be deemed prima facia evidence of recklees driving. SECTION 2. All motor vehicles shall be provided with). front and rear. the front or driving lightd shall be of tilting variety'' other' device which will kill the glare of driving lights. SECTION 3. Every motor vehicle operated or d.riveil upon,•tt or highways of said Cityoof Okeechobee, Florida, shall be provided with brakes, in good working order, and sufficien t to control such vehicle et when the same is in use, and an adequate horn or other device for sign£Wf 'sufficient unto all conditions to give, time and warning of the appr9 motor :vehicle, and shall, during the period from one -half hour after =eU r n One-half hour before sun rise, display at least two lighted lamps on the., and one on the roar of such vehicle. SECTION 4. It shall be unlawful to operate upon thetagyjr4 . street or highway in the City of Okeechobee, Florida, any log cart, tract machine, other than the ordinary form wagon or buggy, or any other vehic? --or machine that is likely to damage a hardsurfaced street or `highway exc ordinary wear and tear on the same. SECTION . Any person convicted of the violation of swot 'provisions of this Ordinance shall be ptnished by fine of not more than or by imprisonment for nOt not more than sixty (60) days, Tor by both atc7, and imprisonment in the discretion of the Mayor. SECTION 6.
