0169 (Taxes)• ▪ • ORDINANCE NO, 169 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF TAXES FOR THE YEAR 1935, FOR THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That the City of Okeechobee, Florida, hereby levies a tax of 26 mills on each dollar valuation of real and personal property within the corporate limits of the said City of Okeechobee, Florida, for the Tax Year 1935. Such tax shall be assessed and collected in the manner provided by law. SECTION 2. That 19 mills of such tax shall be used for General City purposes and shall be assessed for the General Fund of said City; that 1 mill shall be used for publicity purposes and shall be assessed for the Publicity Fund of said City; that 6 mills shall be assessed for and is made pursuant to a Peremptory Writ of Mandamus issued ott of the Circuit Court of Okeechobee County, Florida, on the 25th day of October, A. D. 1935, on the relation of H. J. Rice, which said Peremptory Writ requires the City Council to include a sufficient amount and /or tax levy to pay off and discharge the indebtedness of said City to said Relator. SECTION 3. It shall be the duty of the Tax Collector and City Clerk to divide the proceeds received from said tax as aforesaid into the funds set out in the preceding sections and keep full and correct account of same as they may be directed by said City Council. BEt TION 4. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith be, and the same are hereby repealed.
