0212 (Taxes)ORDINANCE NO. , ) �, AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF TAXES FOR THE YEAR 194 FOR THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA. BE IT ORDAINED BY TilL MAYOR AND CIEY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the City of Okeechobee, Florida, here- by levies a tax of 20 mills on each dollar valuation of, real and personal property within the corporate limits of the City of Okeechobeee Florida, for the year 1944; such taxes ehsll be assessed and collected in the manner provided by law, PROVIDED HOWEVER, that no taxes shall be assessed against homesteads having a valuation of $5,000.00 and less for the General Fund. Section 2. That 5 mills of such tax shall be used for General City purposes and shall be assessed for the General Fund of said City. That 15 mills of such tax shall be assessed for the Interest andSinking Fund for the payment of Interest and Principle of General Refunding Bonds, issue of 1942 of said City of Okeechobee. Section 3. It shall be the duty of the Tax Collector of said City and the City Clerk of said City, to divide the proceeds received from said taxes as aforesaid, into the funds set out in Section 1 of this ordinance and keep full and correct account of the same as they may be directed by the City Council. Section 4. A11 ordinances or parts of ordinances, in c'n- fiict herewith be, and the same are hereby repealed. Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect 001se upon its passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 26th day of October, A.D. 1944.
