AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE BEVY AND COLLECTION OF
TAXES FOR THE YEAR 1952 FOR THE CITY OF 0 KEECHOBEE, FLORIDA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF E CITY
OF OEEECHOBEE, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That the City of Okeechobee, Florida, hereby
levies a tax of 20 mills on each dollar valuation of real
and personal property within the corporate limits of the
Oity of Okeechobee, Florida, for the year 1952; suck taxes
shall be assessed and collected zgskast in the manner pro-
vided by law, PROVIDED HOWEVER, that no taxes shall be assess-
ed against homesteads, having a valuation of not more than
$5,000.00 for the General Fund of said City.
SECTION 2. That 5 mills of such tax shall be used for Gen-
eral City purposes and shall be assessed for the t =toeas*
General Fund of said City. That 15 mills of such tax shall
be assessed for the interest and sink'ibi' fund for the payment
of interest and principal of General Refunding Bonds, Bssue
of 1942, of said City.
SECTION 3. It shall be the duty of the Tax Collector of said
City and the City Clerk of said City, to divide the proceeds
received from said Taxes as aforesaid, into the funds set out
in Section 1 of this Ordinance and keep full and correct account
of same as they may be directed by the City Council.
SECTION 4. All ordinances, or parts of Ordinances, in conflict
herewith be, and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall b e in full force and effect
upon its passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
PASSED AND ADOPTED in regular adjourned session this 15th day
of September, A. D. 1952.
