AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF TAXES
FOR THE YEAR 1958 FOR 7HE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That the City of Okeechobee, Florida, hereby
levies a tax of 20 mills on each dollar valuation of real and personal
property within the corporate limits of the City of Okeechobee, for the
year 1958; such taxes shall b e assessed and collected in the manner pro-
vided by law, PROVIDED HOWEVER, that no taxes shall be assessed against
homesteads, having a valuation of not more than $5,000.00 for the Gen-
eral Fund of said City.
SECTION 2. That 14 mills of such tax be used for General City
purposes and shall be assessed for the General Fund of said City. That
6 mills of such tax shall be assessed for the interest and sinking fund
for the payment of interest and principal of General Refunding Bonds,
Issue of 1942, of said City.
SECTION 3. It shall be the duty of the Tax Collector of said
City and the City Clerk of said City, to divide the proceeds received
from said taxes as aforesaid, into the funds set out in Section 1 of
this Ordinance and keep full and correct account of same as they may be
directed by the City Council.
SECTION 4. All ordinances, or parts of Ordinances, in conflict
herewith be, and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
upon its passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
