0349 (Delinquent Water/Sewer Fees)ORDINANCE NO. 111 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10 OF ORDINANCE NO. 289, CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA, BEING AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO RECOVERY ON DELINQUENT WATER AND SEWER SERVICE AND PROVIDING FOR SHUT OFF OF SERVICE AND SETTING A CHARGE FOR RECONNECTION, BY INCREASING THE RECONNECTION CHARGE FROM $2.00 to $5.00, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida: Section 1. That Section 10 of Ordinance No. 289 of the Code of Ordinances, City of Okeechobee, Florida, is hereby amended to read as follows: Water meters shall be read monthly and all bills for water and sewer services shall be rendered monthly, and if not paid within fifteen days following the rendition of each such bill the amount thereof shall become delinquent. When any bill becomes delinquent as aforesaid the amount thereof may be enforced by the city in a civil action to recover the money due and the water service to the premises served thereby shall be discontinued or shut off and an additional fee or charge of five dollars shall be made and collected for each re- connection when any such delinquent bill or bills are paid. Section 2. EFFECTIVE DATE: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after December 1, 1971. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 9th day of November, 1971. ATTEST: City Clerk tu.
