0373 (Occupational Licenses)ORDINANCE NO. 37? AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO OCCUPATIONAL LICENSES IMPOSED BY CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 363 OF THE CITY; AMENDING SECTION 12 -22 (SCHEDULE), SUBSECTION 105, MERCHANTS, DRUGGISTS AND STOREKEEPERS, BY CHANGING THE ANNUAL OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE FEE CHARGED SUCH BUSINESSES TO PROVIDE UPPER LIMITS THEREON; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND PROVIDING FOR IMMEDIATE PASSAGE OF SUCH ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That Ordinance Number 363 of the City, providing for Occupational Licenses and annual fees therefor, be amended as to fees charged for "merchants' licenses" to establish and provide for upper limits on such charges based upon inventory. SECTION 2. That Section 12 -22 (105) of the Code of Ordinances, City of Okeechobee, Florida, is hereby amended to read as follows: (105) MERCHANTS, DRUGGISTS AND STOREKEEPERS, Retail and Wholesale: (a) First $1,000 stock of merchandise $6.50 (b) Each additional $1,000 up to $7,000 $3.00 (c) Over $7,000 but not exceeding $25,000 $35.00 (d) Over $25,000 but not exceeding $50,000 $50.00 (e) Over $50,000 but not exceeding $100,000 $75.00 (f) Over $100,000 but not exceeding $200,000 $100.00 (g) Over $200,000 $150.00 SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall become effective on October 1, 1974. SECTION 4. This Ordinance was proposed, considered, and adopted under the provisions of Section 166.041(3)(b) Florida Statutes, and was enacted by no less than a two -third vote of the City Council.
