The Clerk was instructed to render statement monthly to the American
Legion for water and garbage service.
Nathan Zelmenovitz, Representative, spoke briefly urging that every
effort be extended to meet the requirements for the street improvement and
requested the Council members, Attorney and ~'~ayor to meet with the County
Co~.issioners, Tuesday, February 12, seeking the cooperation of the County in
the relaying of water line on State Road 441.
Mayor Dunham stated that he had requested ~/~r. Mathers, State Road
Department ~?'~aintenance Engineer, to come to 0keechobee on Feb. 6 to look over
the city's need of speed zone signs and offer recommendations. Said recommend-
ations to be presented to the Council for their approval.
Upon motion the Council adjourned.

Councilmen Chandler, Pearce and Walker with G. C. Durrance, City Attorney and

I, Audley Dunham, Mayor of the City of 0keech~bee, Florida, do hereby
call a special meeting of the City Council of the City of 0keechobee, Florida,
to be held at the Council Chamber, within the City of 0keechobee, on the 26th
day of February, A. D. 1957, at the hour of 7:30 P. ~. for the purpose of
deciding a swimming pool location and the transfer of sites.
You, and each of you are hereby commanded and notified to be at and
attend the aforesaid meeting at the place herein named.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand as Mayor of the City of
0keechobee, Florida, and caused the corporate seal of said City to be affixed
hereto and the same attested by the City Clerk, this 26th day of February

Mayor Dunhs~n stated that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss a site
for swimming pool location and to consider transfer of site.
A delegation from the Chamber of Commerce was present. George Reynolds,
Secretary of Chamber of Com~nerce, stated that R. E. Hamrick had offered to deed to
the City the Block west of City Hall in exchange for the deed to the property in
Block East of City.
After a discussion Councilman Pearce moved that the City deed to R. E.
Hamrick property in Block East of City Hall upon receipt of an unrestricted deed to
the property West of City Hall (to the property of the Chamber of Commerce Building)
also after receiving a ~ertified copy of Resolution adopted by the County Commissioners
regarding the financing of swimming pool~ seconded by Councilman Chandler and carried.
Upon motion the Council adjourned.
