0387 (Candidate Qualifications)ORDINANCE NO. 387 AN ORDINANCE ABOLISHING ORDINANCE NO. 307 BEING AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING THE QUALIFICATIONS OF CANDI- DATES FOR OFFICES OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA BE IT ORDIANED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA: Section 1: All candidates for the office of Mayor, City Clerk, and Councilman of the City of Okeechobee shall pay a qualifying fee of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) upon qualifying as a candidate for any City Election. Section 2: No person shall be eligible to qualify as a candidate for the office of Mayor, City Clerk or City Councilman of the City of Okee- chobee unless he or she shall: (a) Be a duly qualified elector of the City of Okeechobee, and (b) Be a duly qualified elector of the County of Okeechobee, and (c) Be a resident of the County of Okeechobee for not less than one (1) year immediately preceding the date of said City Election, and be a resident of the City of Okeechobee for not less than forty -five (45) days. Section 3: This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon final passage and approval. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Okeechobee this 28th day of October, 1976.
