AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING "AN ACT RELATING TO THE
REGULATION OF TRAFFIC, CREATING CHAPTER 316,
FLORIDA STATUTES, TO BE KNOWN AS THE 'FLORIDA
UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL LAW'": REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH: PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE
HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That "An act relating to the regulation of
traffic; creating Chapter 316, Florida Statutes, to be known as
the 'Florida Uniform Traffic Control Law' "; regulating the
movement of all vehicular, all pedestrian and all other traffic
upon the streets and highways and elsewhere throughout the
State where the public might have the right to travel; pro-
viding definitions; providing for the respective powers of
State and local authorities in the control of traffic upon
the streets and highways; establishing the enforcement of
jurisdiction of traffic laws; establishing the rules of the
road to be applicable throughout the State; establishing a
standard of equipment of vehicles throughout the State;
prescribing penalties for violation; providing for the
adoption of this act by all municipalities within the State
on or before January 1, 1972; providing an effective date,
two copies of which are filed with the City Clerk of the
City of Okeechobee, be and the same is hereby adopted as the
Traffic Control Law of the City of Okeechobee, Florida.
SECTION 2. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be and become effective
immediately upon final passage.

Notice is hereby given that the Ordinance described
below by title only will be placed on third and final reading
at the Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of
Okeechobee, Florida, to be held on November 23, 1976 at
7:00 P.M., at the City Hall, or as soon thereafter as such
Ordinance may be read and considered for passage:

Okeechobee News, on the 28th day of October, 1976, was duly introduced, read
and passed on first reading by the City Council of the City of Okeechobee,
Florida, on the 19th day of October, passed on second reading by title only
on the 9th day of November, 1976, copy of said Ordinance was made available
at the office of the City Clerk to the public upon request during the time
between the first and third reading of the Ordinance, and was duly read
and passed on third and final reading on the 23rd day of November, 1976, by
the City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida.
