TH TEE{ E PROVISIONS THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED by 'the City Council of the City of Okee chobee, Florida; Section 1.- No person, firm or corporation shall engage in or' rcgnage any business, profession or occupaton mentioned in this ordinance within the corporate limits of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, unless a City Liqfcense shall have been pit) cured from tine Tax Collector of said City and attested in the name of' the City Clerk and the corporate seal of said City 'impressed thereon by the City Clerk , Whose fee for attes_t.in,g and placing the seal thereon shall be twenty -five cents, paid s by the person or persons, firm or corporation takini out said license. Section 11.h11 licenses shall be payable on or before the first t-iay of January of each year, (except tie year of the passage of this ordinance, to wit A. D 1924, when they shall be payable on or before- the thirtieth day of January of said year) and. no license small be issued _'"_or any fractional portion of a year except as otherwise provided in this ordinance nd - except that any license net otherwise Specified may be issued after the first day of July to expire January first upon payment of one -half of ; alount fixed as a price of such license for one year. 3)ection 111. All lid censer may be transferred with the approval ofthe City Clerk, with business for which thy were taro out when 'there is a bona -fire sale and transfer of the Property used and employed. in the business as stock in trade but such transferred license shall mot be good for any longer time or for any other place than that for which it was originally issued.. Section IV. The payments of a license under this ordinance shall not legalize gambling or the sale of litoxicating Section V. The fee for licenses to conduct a hotel or rooming house in this. City shall be: For hotels or rooming houses containing five rooms ani less than ten rooms ,'1; 1.00; for hotels or rooiing houses co ntaining ten rooms and less than twenty rooms, 2.00; for hotels or rooming houses containing twenty rooms and. less than thirty rooms 3.00; for hotols and rooming houses containing thirty rooms and less 1); than forty rooms 3.75; for hotels or rooming houses containing forty rooms and Jess than fifty rooms ) 5.00; 1! for hotels or rooming houses containing fifty rooms and. or rooming houses I, less than sixty rooms :.1) 6.25; for hotelscontaining 1; sixty rooms tnd less than seventy-five rooms 7.50; for hotels or rooming houses containing seventy five rooms and less than one hundred. rooms 10.00; for hotels ard rooming houses containing one hundred rooms and less than 11 one hundred and fifty rooms: 12.50; for hotels and or rooming houses rooming houses/containing one hundred. and fifty rooms and less than two hundred. and fifty rooms 15.00; for hotels or rooming houses containing two hundred and fifty rooms and leas than three hundred rooms 0 17.50; for hotels or rooming houses containing three hub.dred zoo= or more •ri; 25.00. Restaurant or lunch counter, The license fee for • 11 conducting a restaurant # or lunch counter in this City shall be: 4 • For restaurants having acoomodations for less than tieent y persons, 1.00; for restaurants having accomodations for twenty persons and less than fif ty persons 2.50; and for restaurants having acco i odati ons for more than fifty persons ' 3.75. Boarding Hoes ea, lodging hous es and hotels three Having aceomodations for AN hundred and here lodgers or boarders shall pay a license tax of ' 100.00 Having aceomodations for two hundrr d and less than three hundred lodgers or boarders shall pay a license tax of 56.00. Having accomodations for one hundre d and less two hundred boarders or lodgers, shall pay a license tax of 5 0.00. Laving accornodations for for seventy -five and less than one hundred lodgers or boarders, shall pay a license tax of 25.00. Having aceomodations for fifty and less than seventy five lodgers or boarders, shall pay a license tax of 12.50. Having ac corno dat ion s for twenty -dive and less than fifty baorders or lodgers, shall pay a license tax of? 7.50. Having acco:nodatiors for fifteen and less than twenty - five lodgers or boarders, shall pay a license tax of 5.00. Having aceomodations for tern and less fifteen lodgers or boarders, shall pay a license tax of 2.50. Accomodatiens for lodgers or boarders shall consist of and mean the number of' beds habitually kept for such lodgers or boarders and not the number of rooms in the Mouse . Provided that widows owning property valued at five thousand dollars or less shall not be required to pay a license tax for conduc- ting a boarding house. Bottling Plants, Owners or :Tanagers of every bottling plant, bottling soft drinks or beverages of any character what ever, which said plant operates a machine for filling, capping, co rking or sealing bottles of any style or character shall pay annually a license tax of r4 . 104401/jot i -4 t2, if of $ 5.00 for each of such machin_ s having one filling head; and t 7.50 for each of such machines have two filling heads; and ten dollars for each of such illa.chines having three filling heads, and five dollars for each additional filling head on, such machines as may have more than three filling heads. Wood Yards, each person owning or operating a wood yard shall pay a license tax of ; 2.50. Gasoline dealers, Gasoline dealers, wholesale, shall pay a license tax of $ 5.00. Packing Houses, each person owning or operating a p aokii house of any kind shall pay a license tax of 5.00. Doctors, Every physician, Chiropnactor or Osteopath, engaged in the practise of his profession in t1n City of Okeechobee shall pay a license tax of 5.00. Plumbing Contractors, all plumbing contractors shall pay a license tax of $ 10.00. Filling Stations, every person owning or operating a gasoline or oil filling station, not paying a license as a garage shall pay a license tax of : , 5.00. Vulcanizing Shtps , every person owning or operating a vulcanizing shop, not paying a license as a garage or filling station shall pay a license tax of ; 2.50 r Section VI . Any firm, pe rson, association or corporation that carries on, conducts or manages or acts as business agent for any business or profession for which a license is required, without first obtaining such license shall be ppnished by a fine hot less than double the amount required try such license and not more ti an five hundred dollars, or by iripris onment not more than sixty days, or both. The payment of all license taxes may be enforced by a seizure and sale of the property by the Tax Collector of said City, it is hereby made the duty of the Tax Collector and Clerk of said City to report to the Mayor all persons, firms or corporations doing business within said City without first paying a license lax as required by this ordinance, and it shall be the duty of the Tviayor to have the parties failing or refusing _ to pay such license tax to be brought before him to be dealt with in accordance with this ordinance. Section VII. This ordinance shall be taken in connection with, and enforced in accordance with Ordinance number four, and shall be supplementary thereto, and all portions #1 # ** of Section number five of Ordinance number four in conflict wi th this ordinance are hereby repealed.. Section VIII. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect imrre diately upon its passage and approval by the mayor.
