0418 (Cable TV Rates)T7; r E1515 fin0 *: 234r �':i+;: ORDINANCE NO. 418 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 357 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES,CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA, BEING ENTITLED OKEAIRCO, INC., CABLE TELEVISION OF OKEECHOBEE FRANCHISE ORDINANCE, BY MODIFYING SECTION 12, DEALING WITH RATES TO CUSTOMERS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA: Section 1: AUTHORITY: This Ordinance is adopted pursuant to the provisions of Section 166.041, Florida Statutes, and other applicable provisions of law. Proper notice of a public hearing to consider a requested rate increase by amending Section 12 of Ordinance No. 357 was published in the Okeechobee News at least 7 days prior to adoption, and said public hearing was held in accordance to said notice, and it was deemed to be in the best interest of the City to amend Section 12 of Ordinance No. 357. Section 2: AMENDMENT: Section 12, subparagraphs (a) thru (e) and (h) of Ordinance No. 357,of Ordinances, City of Okeechobee, Florida, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 12. Rates to Customers. The company shall have the right to charge and collect compensation from all persons and corp- orations who subscribe to Company's services, based upon the following schedule: (a) No installation fee before or during installation of the system. (b) $9.95 installation fee through the first year of operation. (c) $30.00 installation fee may be charged for all installations or hook -ups after the first year of operation. (d) Single family units - $98.45 per year for a one service outlet to be paid in advance. The customer may elect to pay the yearly fee at $8.95 per month, hence paying a total yearly fee of $107.40. The difference of $8.95 per year represents additional costs of bookkeeping and billing. In the event a single family unit or its equivalent desires more than one outlet, there shall be an additional annual charge of $30.00 per outlet per annum. 234 mEi515 Bpnr 234 f'at-151 Eion (e) Apartments and other multi - family units rented to trans- ients or seasonal visitors shall, after the first standard service of $98.45 per year or $8.95 per month, be charged at the rate of $45.00 per year or $3.75 each month for each additional outlet of service. (h) For the purpose of this Agreement, it should be noted that multi - family or apartment type dwellings in (e) are wired for service under separate negotiated contract and that the $30.00 installation fee is to bring only one service to the premises. Section 3. REPEAL OF CONFLICTING ORDINANCES. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed. Section 4. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its final passage in accordance with the procedure set forth in Section 166.041, Florida Statutes.
