AN FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SYSTEM OF
WATERWORKS WITHIN TEE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA FOR
THE PURPOSE OF FURNISHING WATER AND FIRE PROTECTION,
FOR ERECTING WATERWORKS LAYING WATERMAINS PURCHASING
LAND FOR ERECTING TEL,. SALE J THEREON AND FOR ALL OTHER
NECESSARY PURPOSED IN CONNECTIOI: ThEPEVIITH, INCLUDING
THE PURCHASE OF SUITABLE, FIRE TRUCK OR TRUCKS, HOSE
AND OTHER NECESSARY FIXTURES, PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE
OF BONDS FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE SAME, THE CALLING OF A
SPECIAAL ELECTION FOR THE APPROVAL OR REJECTION OF THE
ISSUANCE OF THE SAID BONDS BY THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY
OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA.
Sec. 1. The Mayor and City Council of the City of Okeechobee,
Florida, subject to the provisions of law and this ordinance, are
hereby authorized to issue bonds of said city under the seal of the
said corporation in the amounts and for the purpose of the construc-
tion of a system of waterworks within the city of Okeechobee, Florida,
for the purpose of furnishing water anti fire protection for erecting
aterworks, laying watermains, purchasing land for the erection of
tthie sar thereon and for all other necessary purposes in connection
erew]. h, inciuciing the purchase of suitable fire truck or trucks,
hose, and other necessary fixtures, providing for the issuance of
bonds for the payment of the . same, and the calling of a special
election for the approval or rejection of the issuance of the said
bonds by the electors of the city of Okeechobee, Florida. Said bonds
to be signed by the Mayor, countersigned by, the President of the City
Council, and attested by the Clerk of the said City, with the seal

Council.
Sec. 2. The-Mayor shall, as soon as practicable, aiter the
passage and approval of this Ordinance issue his proclamation
calling a special election for the city of Okeechobee, Florida, to
be held not less than thirty days from the date of said proclamation,
for the purpose of submitting to the electors of the city the
'approval or rejection of the issuance of the bonds provided for in
Sec. 1 of this Ordinance. Said notice shall be published in the
Okeechobee News, a newspaper published in said-City, said call to
be published in five successive issues of said newspaper immediately
prior. to date of election
Sec. 3. That the form of the ballot to be used in saia election
shall be in substantially the following form;

Sec. 4. The Mayor in his procalamation calling for the election
herein provided shall name three electors of the City of Okeechobee, who
shall act as inspectors of said election, and a clerk thereof. Should
any of the inspectors or clerks so appointed fail or refuse to qualify
the Mayor is authorized at any time prior to the opening of the polls
to name additional inspectors or clerk.
The inspectors conducting the election aforesaid shall
immediately after the polls are closed count the votes for and against
the proposed bond issue, and immediately certify the result of the same
to the City Council.

shall be in denominations of $500.00 each bearing interest payable
