0040 (Territorial City Limits)ORDINANCE NO, 4D. AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR ` a.E CONTRACTING OF THE TERRITORIAL LIMITS OF THE CITY OF OKE ECH OB .E, FLORIDA, AND DEFINING TPE DISTRICT TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE CITY LIMITS OF SAIT) CITY. WHEREAS, in the proceedings for the contracting of the City Limits of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, under Ordinance No. 30 passed and approved the 9th day of October, A. D. 1917, there was error in the description of the territory sought to be retained within the limits of said city, and it being necessary for the City to have its boundaries properly described, the City Council in regular session, desiring to correct said description, Therefore: BE IT ORDAINED BY `1fIE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF WE CITY OF OKEE: CHOBEE, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Okeechobee, does hereby declare that it is the desire of the said Council to exist exclude from the corporate limits of the City of Okeechtb ee, Florida, all of that certain district or territory which is now within the present corporate limits and which lie on the outside of the following described and designated lines, that is to s ay: Commencing at sk the northeast corner of the northwest quarter of the northeast quarter of Section 15 in township 37 south, range 35 east, and then run south to the southeast corner of the southwest quarter of the southeast quarter of section 22, township 37 south, range 35 east; then run west along the section line dividing sections 22 and 27 and 21 end 28 to the Southwest corner of section 21, town- ship 37 south, range 35 east; then run north along the section line dividing sections 20 and 21 and 16 and 17 to the northwest corner of section 16 in township 37 south, range 35 east; then run east along section line dividing sections 9 and 16 and 10 and 15 to the point of commencing. That it is the sense and desire of the City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, that all of the district and territory lying outside of the above stet designated lines, of the City of Okeechobee as now incorporated and described, be ex- cluded from the said city limits of Okeechobee. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be approved or disapproved by vote of the qualified electors voting for that purpose at an election to be called and held for that purpose in pursuance of the laws of the State of Florida, providing for the contraction of City or Town limits. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall go into effect upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. Read a first and second tine and by unanimous consent passed in open session this 28th day of January, 1919.
