.111 ORDINANCE.
TO PROVIDE FOR THE PROTECTION OF FOODS EXPOSED FOI S ALE
T E CITY OF OIOEECHOBEE, FLORIDA..
Be it Ordained by the City Council of the City of Okeechobee:
SECTION 1. That all fresh meat exposed for sale shall be
kept in cases of wire netting with glass tops.
SECTION 2. All bread, rolls, biscuits, pies, cakes, candies,
confectionery and the like exposed for sale shall be kept in show
cases of glass, except such of said articles which are securely
wrapped ready for delivery. C Fl?
SECTION 3. All fruits and vegetables exposed for sale shall
be kept in recepticles screened with wire netting.
SECTION 4. The doors, windows and other openings of bakeries
;There bread or cakes are made, and of glace ; where candy and con-
fectionery is made, shall be screened with wire netting.
SECTION 5. Whenever wire netting is prescribed in this
ordinance, it shall mean wire netting not coarser than 16 mesh.
SECTION 6. All cases and receptacles mentioned in this
ordinance shall be kept closed, except for the purpose of lacing
food therein or removing it therefrom, and shall be kept free from
flies. And all screen doors and windows shall be opendd only in
case of necessity, and,all apartments so screened under t?lis ordi-
nance shall be kept free from flies.
Section 7. No food of any kind shall be exposed or kept for
sale in front of stores, or in the doorways thereof at a less height
than twenty inches above the sidewalk or floor.
Section 8. Whoever violates any provision of this ordinance
shall be punished by a fine not exceeding two hundred and fifty
.ollars, or by imprisonment for not more than thirty days.
SECTION 9. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in co .fiict
herewith are hereby repealed.

SECTION 10. This ordinance shall go into effect upon its passage
and approval by the Jlayor.
