0028 (Levy Taxes)ORDINANCE NO. 28 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY OF TAXES FOR THE YEAR 1916. RE IT ORDAINED BY Thti MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF ME CITY OF OV11013EL, FLORIDA. SECTION 1. That the City of Okeechobee, Florida* hereby levy a tax of 15 mills on each dollar valuation of real and personal property within its corporate limits subject to taxation on the fourth day of June, 1916. Such tax to be assessed and collected in the manner provided by law. SECTION 2, That 7 mills of such tax shall be used for general City purposes; that 4 mills of such tax shall bd used for build- ing purposes; and that 4 mills shall be used for laying out and improving streets and sidewalks. SECTION 3. It shall be the duty of the City Tax Collector and City Treasurer to divide the proceeds received from said taxes into three sepertate funds as above set forth and keep an account .itereor as may be directed. by the mayor of the City Council. 5ECTION 4, This ordinance shall be in full force and effect irtnediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
