WHEREASt the City of Okeechobee obtains its municipal water
supply directly from Lake Okeechobee* and
WHEE6ASp the economic balance of the City of Okeechobee depends
on the w*ll-beln6 of the Lake of Okeechobee "ver lades Agricultur&l
Area; and
HP;F.AS ,, great demands have been and are being placed upon the
water available from Lake Jkeechobes, to the extent that such
withdrawal* would probably effect the quality of minicipal water and
possibly jeopardise the municipal water supply; and

and such lack of water would affect the economical well-being of the
City of Qkeschobee;

municipal water will not be adversely affected# to insure that the

such allocation and distribution be so nude that it will not
jeopardize the economic well-bsin6 of the agricultural area.

adequate water supply from Lake Okeechobee be mad* avallsbe to the
municipality as well as the agricultural area to encourage the
continued development of the area similar to that which has been
sustained sine* the authorization of House Document No. 643.
