1970-06 Sewage SystemR E S O L U T I O N
Whereas, the City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida,
has previously resolved to determine the feasibility of an
extension of its sewage system by a forced feed line across
,Taylor Creek at the bridge on State Road 70 to a point on
(Riverview Drive most accessible for connection by the new Royal
;shopping plaza and also most beneficial to the City for future
expansion to serve users east of Taylor Creek; and
Whereas, the City Council has determined that it is in the
Dresent and future best interests of the people and the system
that such an extension be presently undertaken; and
Whereas, engineering plans and specifications are complete
and the project is ready for letting for bids subject to State
3oard of Health approval; and
Whereas, it has been firmly understood and determined that
the city shall only be financially responsible for the cost of
a six inch force main from the city's existing main to a point
on the West side of Riverview Drive at the Southwest corner of
the Royal Shopping Plaza where said main shall connect to a lift
station financed by Royal (but which shall be the property of the
city);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
ITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA:
That invitation to bidders be immediatley published in the
form approved city's engineers, and that bids be received and
opened on May 4, 1971, at which time the City Council shall act
upon bids for those items which the Council has determined shall
be contracted with the city and for which the Council has resolved
finance as set forth above, but the city shall not be bound
otherwise.
