1948-05 Cancelling Unpaid Taxes from 1927-1940esolution
The following resolution was presented by Councilman
Wati:ord who moved its Adoption, and upon being
seconded by Councilman Brette- ., was put to a vote
and adopted:
Resolution
WHEREAS, Gilbert Culbreth has made ap-rlication to this
CouneiLl to authorize the Tax Collector of the City of Okeechobee
to cancel all eity taxes heretofore levied against the property
hereinafter described for the years 1927 to 1940 inclusive for the
reason that said lands were excluded from the municipality by
Chapter 10960, -Laws of Florida, Acts of 1925, and WHEREAS said
taxes which have been asses?ed for the years 1927 to 1940 inclusive
constitute a cloud upon said property and this Council having given
due consideration to said appileRtions
NOW., THEFEFORE0 BE IT RESOLVED that the City lax Col-
lector of the City of Okeechobee be and he is hereby authorized
and instructed to cancel 911 unpaid taxes and tqx certificates
issued for the years 1927 to 1940 inclusive, or any of such years.,
and make proper notation on the tax rolls of said city to clear
the following described lands of said taxes:
Lots 1 and 7 to 12 inclusives Block 4. and
lots 3. 42 5 and 7 to 12 inclusive, Block 5,
Riverside Park Subdivision, according to plat
thereof recorded in Plat book 1, page 23,
