R E S 0 L U T 1 0 N
WHEREAS, the City of Okeechobee is without suitable
fire equipment for protection of property and fire insurance
rates will increase thirty five or forty percent unless suit-
able equipment is installed immediately, and
WHEREAS, this Council hai3 considered several offers
submitted and deeming it to the beat interest of the oitizens
of said City that suitable equipment be installed,
NQW0 THEREFOREt BE IT RESOLV&D that the equipme-U-104
offered by Reeves & Elsinger� 416 Tampa Street, Tampa, Florida,
to -wit:
#75 American LaFrance Engine, with complete
equipment, and one thousand -feet hose
be purchased and that the City pay the sum of Two Thousand Two
Hundred Fifty ($2,250-00) Dollars for same, which said sum
shall be paid as follows:
4750-00 on or before March 1. A. D. 1940 and the bal-
ance in three installments of $500-00 each, due one, two and
throe years from March 1, A. D. 194o, with interest on suoh de-
ferred payments at the rate of 6% per annum from the date of
acceptance of said equipment by the City Council.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this purchase is not to
be final until said fire.truck and equipment and hose is
delivered to the City, free of cost, after having been approved
by representatives of the Southeastern Underwriters Association.
PASSED and ADOPTED in open session this 6th day of
November, A. D. 1939. �
