Councilman Gardner moved to grant request and waive City License fee on circus November 19, 1963 and fair or carnival February 6 - 11, 196~, sponsored by Okeechobee Memorial Post #64, seconded by Councilman Warlord and unanimously carried. Upon motion the Council adjourned. U?RESIDEffT CITY CO'~T~,' November 5, 1963 The Cit~ Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, met in regular session at the City Hall on the above date at 7:00 P. M. with the following present: Mayor Mack, President Mc Crocklin, Councilmen Gardner, Hunt, Walker, and Watford with Attorney Hendry and Clerk Spivey. Reading of the minutes of meetings held October 8, 15 and 22, 1963 were emitted at this time. Approval of bills was omitted at this time due to early date in month. Pursuant to notice published in Okeechobee News regarding a public hearing on rezoning Lots 11 and 12, Block 19, ~orthwest Addition from Residential (R-2) to Commercial, President Mc Crocklin asked if there were any ob~ctions. No objection was heard or filed. It was reported that the hearing had been properly advertize~ and property posted. Councilman Gardner moved to rezone Lots 11 and 12, Block 19, Northwest Addition from Residential (R-2) to Commercial and presented the following Ordinance and moved its adoption and ~n: being seconded by Councilma~ Warlord was put to a vote and unanimously adopted: ORDINANCE NO. 271 - (22) ORDINANC~ AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 271, ~ING AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING ZONING REGULATIONS FOR THE CITY OF OXEECHOBEE, FLORIDA, AND PROVIDING FOR TH~ ADMINISTRATION, ENFORCEMENT AND AME~NT THEREOF PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 176, FLORIDA STATUTES, 1953. WHEREAS, application has been made by Leroy Briney, requesting this Council to rezon~ from RESIDENTIAL (R-2) TO COMMERCIAL Lots 11 and 12 of Block 19, Northwest Addition~ and WHEREAS, Notice of intention to amend City Zoning Ordinance No. 271 regarding said aPplication was duly published according to law, and WHEREAS, on the 5th d~y of November, 1~3, a public hearing was held in the City Council room p~rsuant to said notice, and WHEREAS, it is deemed to the best interest of the City of Okeechobee to grant said application; now therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY' THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. President Mc Crecklin asked if there were any objections. No objection was hear~ or filed. Thereupon Councilman Gardner moved to close above describe~ alley and presented the following Resolution and moved its adoption and upon being seconded by Councilman Walker was put to a vote and unanimously adopte~: F/RESOLUTION WHEREAS, It is de~w~ necessary by the City Council of the City of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, to vacate, discontinue and close the following alley, tO-wit.' THAT CERTAIN ALLEY WAY LOCATED BETWEEN LOTS 2 and 3 OF OSCEOLA PARK, according to the Plat thereof recorded in Plat Book 2, Page 99, Public records of Okeechobee County. Said alley being 15 feet wide by 126 feet AND WHEREAS, Notice of a public hearing pertaining thereto was duly advertised according to law and whereas said public hearing was held on the 5th day of ~vember, 1963, in accordance with said notice and ne 'objections being heard, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the alley above described be and is hereby v~cated, discontinued and closed. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that notice of the adoption of this Resolution be published one time in accordance with law. Councilman Gardner moved to publish notice in 0keechobee News for bids on painting outside of City Hall and sealing open ends of roof between tile and s~eating~ seconded by Councilman Hunt and unanimously carried.
