Pursuant to call of the Mayor., the City Council of Okeechobee, Fla.
met in special sess�on at the City Hall on 'the above date, at 2:00 P. M.
with the following present: H. H.Hancock, Mayor, 0. L. Hunt, President of
City Council, Councilmen Ra4erBon, Singletary, Coleman, Domem, L. 0. Toolle
Water Supt., Alto Watford, T. W Conely, Jr., and W. S. A. Henderson, Fire
Chief. (City Clerk) (City Attorney)
Mayor Hancock stated that meeting of the Council had been called
for the purpose of discussing Legislative matters.
The following Resolution was presented by Councilman Raulerson,
who moved its adoption, and upon seconded by Councilman Singletary and put
to & vote., was unanimously adopted.
R -S -O -L -U -T -I -O -N
WHEREAS, a Bill,has been introduced in the Senate of the Florida
Legislature which directs and authorizes the Stat-- Auditor or his assistant
to annually audit the affairs end records of each and every municipality
within the State of Florida; and directing said State Auditor to promulgate
Rules and regulations requiring said municipalittes to establish and adopt
uniform systems of accounts and records as promulgated by said State AuditaT
and to require the enforcement of smh Rules and regulations and prescribing
penalties for their violations, and authorizing the Government to em lo -Y

WHEREAS, this Council believes that such Legislation will destroy
thl� efficiency of said Oity government and will ten.d 'to- create addittakal
taxation, which is not needed, and
WH7,REA:B, this Council believes it to be tu the beat ItIterest of
the citizens and residents i of the City of Okeechobee., Florida, that the &f -
fairs of said City can be best administered by local citizens instead of a
State organization, and
WHEREAS. this Council believes that the annual appropriation,
under the provisions of said Bill�t of Forty Thousand Dollars is a useless
expenditure and coan be eliminated.

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved , that Hon. C. F. Raulerson, State
Senator, and Hon. Wm. Griffis, County Representative, be imediately notified
that this Council is opposed to provisions of said Senate Bill 418, and that
said Representatives be requested to oppose said Bill and do everything pos-
sible to defeat bame.
BE IT FURTHUR RESCLVED that copies of this Resolution be imed-
iately forwarded to Hon. DaVid Sholtz, Governor, Hon. Wm. C. Hodges, Pres.
Florida Senate, Hon. W. B. Bishop, Speaker of the House of Representatives,
Hon. 0. F. Raulerson, State Senator, and -Hon. ft. Griffis,, Representative.
