1947-02 City IndebtednessRESOLUTION WHEREAS the city of Okeechobee, Florida, is the only Incorporated municipality within the boundaries of Okeechobee County, Florida, and WHEREAS, the developement and progress of the entire County of Okeechobee, is more or less dependent upon the financial, educational and cultural leadership of the city of Okeechobee, and WHEREAS, the city of Okeechobee has outstanding Bonds and Certificates of Indebtedness, in the sum of approximately Six Hnndred and Fifty Thousand Dollars, and WHEREAS; the potential and/or actual value of the property located within the boundaries or limits of said city, is not of sufficient value, to insure the paymentA of said indebtedness as the same severall becomes due, w1hout the levy of an unreasonable and confiscatory mileage, and WHEREAS, the county of Okeechobee, Florida, receives, N 9 annually, from what is commonly known as the RACE TRACT fund, a sum of money in excess of the actual requirements of said codnty for all legitimate purposes, therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of Okeechobee, Florida, that Hon. 4. J. hendry, and Hon. Ray Carrol., "ep- resentative and Senator, respectively, of Okeechobee County, be and they are hereby respectfully requested to introduce and have passed at the present session of the Legislature, the Bill and/or Act hereto attached.
