&.,,entitled: "AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE LEVY OF A TAX

UPON ELECTRICITY USED OR CONSUMED IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA FOR LIMiT., HEAT OR POWER;
PROVIDING FOR REPORTS OF THE DISTRIBUTION AND SALE OF ELECTRICITY AND FOR THE COL-
LECTION OF THE TAX IMPOSED HEREIN, AND FOR THE DISPOSITION OF THE PROCEEDS THERE-
FROMp. AND FIXING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ACT", has
been -introduced in the present session of the Legislature of the State of Florida,
for passage, and
IHEREAS, the'City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, are of the opin-
ion that such legislation will work a hardship on the people residing in the said
City of Okeechobee, and
-,WHEREAS., the consumers of electricity in the State of Florida are requIred to
pay the'lioense or tax to be imposed under the terms of the bill aforesaid and
such tax will work'a hardship on the citizens of the State of Florida, and
'WHEREAS, "the said City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, do not
believe that such legislation is constructive.,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Okeechobee,
Florida, that said Council does oppose any such legislation and that the Representative
of Okeechobee County and Senator from this Senatorial District be furnished with
copies of,this resolution and that they �e requested:'to oppose the proposed bill
or any bill having similar provisions as stated above.
Passed and adopted in open session of the City Council, this 5th day of May,
