President DeYarman being absent,, upon motion by Councilman
Adams, Seconded by Councilman Hampton, Councilman Berka was elected
President p�io-tem.
Minutes of meetings held November 23 and 30 were read and ap-
proved.
Dr. H. D. Smith, City Health Officer, addressed the Council
and recommended that the Council pass an ordinance requiribg the
property owners to grub the palmetto off their property.as ;s� means
of ridding the City of mosquitoes.
Motion was made by Councilman Hampton, seconded by Councilman
Bass and duly carried that the Council offer 0. D. Clements $50.00
06M J as payment for his cow that died in the City pound.
The following resolution was offered byCounoilman Bass, seconded
by Councilman Hampton and adopted by unanimous vote:
Realfz-ing that the building of ihie_�roposed bridge across Kis-
aimmee River on -State Road Number Eight, is badly needed for the
development of this community, and being advised that the Statd Road
Department at its last regular meeting refused to accept any bids
for the oonstruotion of said bridge,
We the City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida do hereby
resolve that this bridge should be erected and built 6t the earliest
possible time, and we do hereby petition the State Road Department
and the members of its Board to call for new bids as soon as
practical and 'at that time accept some reliable bid.
Building permit was ordered -issued to W. W. Toney
