(Bontinued on next page.) 154 Of the aforesaid improvements will be $45,000.00. NOW TFMFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, STATE OF FLORIDA; Section 1. That under, and by virtue of the power vested in said City (f Okeechobee, State of Florida, by section 1060 of the General Statute of the State of Florida, it is hereby resolved, that the said City of Okee- ohobee shall issue its Water lorks Bonds for the aggregate sum of �45,000.00, said Bonds to be in such form as may be 0 hereafter adopted 'by the City Council, and to be in denominatiorsof 0500.00 each, bearing interest payable semi-annually at the rate of six per cent per annum, both principal and interest payable at the Bank of Okeechobee, F16rida,;-,, or at the American Exchange National Bank, New York City, N.Y., at the option of the holder. Said Bonds to be dated July first, A.D. 1919. Interest payable on the first day of January and July of each and every year after date of issuance, until maturity of the said Bonds, the principal of said Bonds shall be payable as follows �4500.00 on July 19 A.D. 1939 and $4500.00 every year thereafter, to and including,July 1, A.D. 1948, said Bonds to be numbered from one to 90 inclusive, with interest coupons attached. Section 2. That an election be held at as early date as practicable. at which the question to be submitted to the electors of said City, havil�r the qualifications prescribed by section 1060 of the General Statutes of the State of Florida, being those who own real estate therein and have paid their taxes for the year last due thereon, and actually voting at said election;:, shall be the issuance of said Bonds, and the Mayor shall forth- with issue his proclamation in the Okeechobee News, a newspaper pub- lished in said City in five successive issues of said newspap-er immedi- ately'prior to date of election. section 3. Pearce, and carrying unanimously the following Resolution was read a f irst time in full: 156.. said City, for the purpose of paving., grading, and curbing certain stt6ets'in the City of Okeechobee, and also for draining both by sewerage and by surface drainaing, and oth,�r purposes, as provided by Section 1060 of the General Statutes..of Florida, and for the submission of the question of the issuing,of the said Bonds to an election�to be held under and by virtue of section 1062.of the General Statute of,the State of Florida. Whereas, the City Council of the City of Okeechobee deem it to the best interest of the City of Okeechobee, that certain streets within the corporate limits of said City of Okeechobee be paved, curbed and drained, both by sewerage and by surface drainage, and Whereas, it is the intention of the City of Okeechobee to charge one-third of the expense of the said paving, curbing and grading axid draining, both by sewerage and by surface draining, and for the purpose of constructing the necessary Cess -pool or pools, Septic Tank, or Tanks, and also for the upkeep and repair of all of the said im- provements and other purposes to the abutting property owners on each side of the streets, and Whereas, in order to provide the funds to pay for the City's.por- tion of such improvements, it will be necessary for the City to*contract a loan for such purpose, or purposes, and to pledge the funds and credit of the City, and the property of the said City for the redemption of such loan, and Whereas, the cost of the City's share of such proposed improvements is_estimated at $80,000.00. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RE5OLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF T19, CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, STATE OF FLORIDA; Section 1. That under and by virtue of power vested in said City of Okeechobee, -State of Florida, by section 1060 of the General Statute of the State of Florida, it is hereby resolved, that the said City of Okeechobee shall issue its Paving & Sewer Bonds for the aggregate sum of 480,000.00. Said Bonds to be in such form as may be hereafter adopted by the said City Council, and to be in denomin6tions of �500-00 each, bearing interest payable semi-annually at the rate of six per cent per annum, both principal and interest payable at the Bank of Okeechobee, Okeechobee, Florida, or at the American Exchange National Bank, New York City, N.Y., at the option of the holder. Such Bonds shall have the seal of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, thereon and shall be signed by the Mayor and the City Clerk, and shall also be attested by the President of the City Council provided, however, the interest coupons attached thereto shall have signatures of above named officials lithographed thereon.
