Whereas, the Uity Uouncil of the Uity of ukeechobee, deem it to the best interest of the Uity of Okeechobee, that certain streets, within the carporate limits of said City of Okeechobee, be paved, curbed and drained both by sewerage, ard by surface drainage, sad, Whereas it is the intention of the Uity of Okeechobee, to charge, one third of tbe expense of the said paving, curb ing,, grading and drain- ing both by sewerage and by surface draining, and for the purpose of constructing the necessary Uess-pool or pools, ;jeptic xank, or Tanks, and als(r-f or the upkeep, and repair, of all of the said improvements, and othjV purposes, to the abutting property owners on each side of the street, and 'Whereas, in order to provide the funds, to pay for the Uity's portion ox gitoh improvements, it will be neoesBary for the, %�ity to contract a loan, for such purpose, or purposes, and to pledge the funds, and credit of the City, md the property of the said Uity for the redemption of such loan, and, Whereas, the cost of the. That under and by virtue of power vested in said Vity of okeeahobee, State of vlorida, by Section 1060 of the General Statutes of t -he State of Vlorida, it is hereby resolved, that the said Oity of Okeechobee, shall issue its eaving & Sewer bonds for the aggregate sum of ,V8O,0UO*OO, said bonds to be in such form as may be hereafter adopted. by the sdid L�ity Uouncil, and to be in denominations of jp50u.00 each, bearing interest, payable semi-annually, at the rate of six per cant per Rxnu-m, both principal and interest, payahie az zhe Bank of Okeechobee, Okeechobee, Florida, or at the American Exchaage National b,�nk, New York Uity, N. Y. at the option of the holder. Said Bonds to be dated July first A. 1). Interest payable on the first dV of January, and July, of each and every year, after date of issuance, until maturity of the said Bonds, the' principal of said Bonds shall be payable as follows: 08,000.00 on July first, A. .0. 1939 and §8,000.00 every year thereafter, to july first, 1948, said Bonds to be numbered from one to 160 inclusive with interest coupons attached. * Section 2. - That an election be hold at as early date as practicable, at which the question to be submitted to the electors of said Uity,, having the 4ualifications prescribed by Section 1060 of the General Statutes of the State of Plorida, being those who own real estate therein and have paid their taxes, for the year last due thereon, md actual3,v voting at said election; shall be the issuance of said Donds, and the Mayor, shall 171' lotthwith issue his proclamation in the'Okeehobee News, a newspaper published in said Uity, in five succebsive issues of said newspaper immediately. prior to date of election. Section 3. That the -form.of the ballot to be used at'Baid election shall be, substantially as follows: "Official Ballot Utmicipal, Bond Election," June 21 A. D. 1919, uity of Okeechobee, -Florida. Malm a cross (X) mark before the question of your choice, Vote Nr one. 75'r bo-n1s. Against Bonds. Section 4. Should the issuance af said -bonds be authorized by the required majority votes, then said -oonds shall be issued according to law, without delay, and the Vity Council shall before such issuance provide by ordinance, for the redemption of said 13onds at maturity, and for the payments of the interest upon the same by levy of a m1ficient millage as may be necessary for such Purpose. Section 6. Should the issuance of said Bonds be authorized at such election', the Qity Uouncil of the Uity of Okeechobee, hereby pledges itself, to expend the proceeds of said Bonds for the purposes ,$amed in this resolution, including paving, curbing, draining, by mewerage and by surface drainage such streets as the Uity uouncil may designate. Such bonds shall have the seal of the Oity of Okeechobee, Florida, thereon, and shall be signed by the Mayor, and the Uity Olerk, mid shall also be attested by the President of the Uity Coun- cil, provided, however, the interest coupons attached thereto shall have the signatiares of above named officials lithopraphed thereon. 1 1, 1).
