dent of the 0ouncil at this meeting. 6eeonded by K. L. Pearce, and
said motion carried unanimously. it, brooks assumed the chair as
xresident of the Uounail.
u!he minutes of may 27" and june 10".were read and approved as
read.
Xro H. n, Collier, migineer from 6anford, vlorida, addressed
the Uouncil in regard to the emplo�ment of a good engineer., mo
action was taken by the Oouncil.
Motion was made by W. P. Underhill, seconded by K. u. Pearce,
thit the Uounoil proceed with the canvass of election returns of
election held on June 21st. 6aid motion carried unanimously.

.for ' the purpose of canvassing the retuxn.s of the bpecial zilection
hold within said Uity, on the 21st day of june, A.D. 1919, for the
purpose of paving, grading and curbing of certain streets, also
drainage by sever and surface draining, and other purposes, with the
following mem1ibers of the Oity Uouncil present:

I xhe following resolution was introduced by uouncilman ic.
qright and seconded by uouricilman w. e. u-nderhill:
Resolved'. that,
at an election duly held within the City of Okeechobee,
on the 21st Jay of june A. D* 1919 a majority of the votes cast were
in`�favbr of the iss'ning of b6nds, for the �urpose of paving, grading
and curbing certain streets, also drainage by sewer, and surface drain-
ingf,ana other pur-poses., ohich having been duly canvassed, the result
thereof declaredt and duly recorded on the minutes of said City Uouncil,
under which the said City was authorized to issue and sell said bonds,
as heratofore.provided, therefore be it resolvedt that,
The Uity Uouncil oi- the Uity of Okeechobeo,'State of 21orida, does
,hereby levy a tax of 4-,L mills upon the dollar upon all the real and
personal property within said Uity liable to taxation annually, to pay
:the ,interest upon the said bonds as the same,may become due and payable,
and to provide a sinking fund for retiring'the said bonds as they may
become due, and payable, and that the same are to be deposited according
to law.
And the Uity Tax Assessor.,of Okeechobee L;ity, Florida, is hereby
instructed and required to assess upon all taxable real and personal
property within the uity of Okeechobee subject to taxation the afore-
said millage, and the Tax Colleotor of said Oity is hereby instructed
and required to collect the sane as required by law and deposit the same
aoc.ording to law in the depository as may be named by the vity Uounoil.
be it further ordered that the assessments aforesaid do commence
with -the assessment of the year 1919, and continue so long as the same
may be neeessary to provide a sum sufficient to pay the interest upon
said bonds,, and provide a sinking fund to pay the same as they may
b000me due.
