Please be advised, the City Building Department is issuing your application for a ground sign for
1505 South Parrott Avenue, parcel ID#3-28-37-35-2250-0050-00500-0050 with the condition of
removing all banners and un-permitted signage, upon assembly of the permitted ground sign.

Violations
1) Exessive Signage
a) Using the old code of 1.5 square feet for every linear foot of road frontage,
with 157 feet of frontage, the allowed footage is 235.5 square feet of signage. The
new code allows 1 square foot per linear foot of building frontage. The rear building
may have 60 square feet of signage since the front face is 60 feet wide. This total has
to be added to the total square footage of all signs. We have estimated that the total
signage including banners is approx. 400 square feet. Code attached.
2) 4 Banners without permits.
a) 2 banners above consignment store, 1 banner over side door, 1 banner on fence
at rear of property. These banners count toward the total sign footage and are only
allowed to be displayed for a period of 14 days 4 times a year. Code attached.
3) Signs attached to building without proper permits.
a) Skill Hill Steel signs attached to front& rear building.
4) Operating a retail business without the proper BTR.
a) Current BTR allows motorcycle repair only.
5) Merchandise and signs displayed outside store and in
parking lot.
a) Pictures enclosed.

A permit was processed on 9/9/2009 showing signage on front of building and on side.
A sign was on building in back. Owner decided to cancel that permit and submit a
application for a ground sign.
Although the sign code of ordinance does not address signage on sides or additional
buildings in back on same lot, it was bought to my attention a permit will be required.
They were included on the sign permit dated 9/9/2009.
In order to process the new permit application,the signage in violation must be removed.

Dear Mr. Baughman:
This is a courtesy letter informing you of a recent change in the City of Okeechobee sign
ordinance. The previous sign ordinance allowed 1 % square feet of signage for every linear
foot of road frontage w1-tereas the new ordinance allows 1 square foot of signage for every
linear foot of road frontage. However, due to the fact that you are a long time property owner
in the City we are granting you permission to continue using the old sign ordinance. Therefore
you will still be allowed to have 235.5 square feet of signage(157 x 1.5 =235.5). You may
allocate this in any manner you choose, as long as the total for all tenants does not exceed 235.5
square feet. Since the sign at the pregnancy center is inside the window and allowed by the sign
ordinance it does not need to be included in this calculation. If you have any questions please
