A. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M.
B. MAYOR AND COUNCIL ATTENDANCE:
Mayor Oakland R. Chapman Present
Councilman Nick Collins Present
Councilman Andy Rubin Present
Councilman Oscar Thomas Absent with consent
Councilman Dowling Watford Present
STAFF ATTENDANCE:
City Attorney Bryant Present
City Administrator Drago Present
City Clerk Thomas Present
Deputy Clerk Williams Present
Mayor Chapman oDened the Public Hearing
The City Attorney, Jerry Bryant~ read the Budget Resolution in its
entirety.
Councilman Rubin made a motion to adopt the tentative budget,
seconded by Councilman Collins for discussion.
Councilman watford discussed with Council the following line items:
512.1200 Salaries, suggested reduced to $15,750., 512 and 513 contracting
out the janitorial services, 519 General Government Services budget, 522
Salaries increased for employees when they become an EMT, 541 the
purchase of new City limit signs, 536 purchase of a new copier and supply
cabinet.
Councilman Rubin discussed the paving of the median strips
throughout the City.
Councilman Collins discussed the City requesting bids from local
businesses before requesting bids outside the City.
During the discussion by Councilmembers the following figures were
corrected in the budget resolution:
General Fund Revenues, Other Taxes 557,440. to 560,110.
Changing the Total General Fund Revenues 1,819,072.~to 1,821,742.
General Fund Exp., Law Enforcement 632,983. to 635,983.
Changing the Total General Fund Exp. 1,819,072. to 1,821,742.
Public Facilities Imp. Fund Exp. 1,116,000. to 1,076,000.
Public Facilities Imp. Fund Balance 126,930. to 166,930.
Motion by Councilman Collins, seconded by Councilman Rubin to amend
the motion to adopt ~he tenative budget with the changes as discussed
above.
Vote on motion to amend - Councilmen Collins, Rubin and Watford yea.
Motion carried.
Vote on original motion adopting tentative budget resolution.
Councilmen Rubin, Collins and Watford - yea. Motion carried. Attorney Bryant read the millage resolution.
Councilman Collins made a motion adopting the resolution as read,
seconded by Councilman Watford. Vote - Councilmen Collins, Watford and
Rubin - yea. Motion carried.
Mayor Chapman discussed with Council the date for the final public
hearing on the budget.
Following discussion, motion was made by Councilman Collins,
seconded by Councilman Watford to set the Final Budget Public Hearing for
Monday, September 21 1987 at 7:00 P.M.
