Pursua~ to notice published in the Okeechobee News regarding a public hearing on rezoning the following described property from Residential (R-2) to Commercial: President OardDer asked if there 796 were any objection. No objections were heard or filed. Mullis, Manager Of Inter County Tel and Tel Company presented a contract on fire reporting service previom~l~y disccussed in September 4 meeting. Councilman Watford moved to accept the contract and authorized P~sident Gardner to execute same, seconded by Councilman Hunt and unanimously carried. Parker Abney discussed, fill for area in back of City Hall in exchange for city owned junked truck. Matter ta be investigated due to previous arrangements with L. E. Herbert. Also Abney stated the need of fill onHiawassee Street south of Fifth Street. After discussion Councilman Watford moved to pay Parker Abm~y $50.00 for fill to be placed, on Hiawassee Street seconded by Councilman Yeilding and carried. Margue~i~te Lynn requested that the alley in Block 209 be cleaned out. Matter referred to Council~tan Yeild~. Counci~n Hunt reported two request for water line extensions requiring approximately 400 feet of one inch pipe for Allen Markham and Clayton White. The Council granted requests. Also CCmncilman Hunt reported a request from T. H. Nix to use Ditch Digger in Bet-Her Acres Subdivision. CoUncilman Hunt moved to authorize the Water Department to cut approximately 3OO feet of ditch in Bet-~er Acres Subdivision for lO cents per foot with provision that he pay tappage fee in the amount of $~i~O.OO seconded by Councilman Parkerson and unanimously carried. Counci~ Hunt moved to purchase 1000 feet of I inch pipe and 500 feet of 2 inch pipe seconded by CounCilman Parkerson and unanimously carried. Water Supt. Kinsaul requested pe~,ission to attend Water Works Convention in Jacksonville the last week in OctOber. The Council granted request and agreed to pay expenses. ! Councilman Yeilding reported two request for culverts, Frank Burk on 8th & HillsboroUgh and J. C. Evans on i,~&in Street. The Council granted both request. Counci~n Yeilding discussed the need of a new roof on city barn. The Council authorized Councilman Yei'ld~ R~m to get est~tes on cost. Counci]~nan Yeilding discussed the need of grader repairs. The Council authorized the repair. Councilman Yeilding rez~rted the need of a power saw for the Street Department. Councilman Parkerson moved ~o purchase saw at an approximate cost of $130.00 seconded by Councilman Yeilding and carried. The Co~cil authorized the removal of trees at the City Hall and to have them cut as low as possible. Matte~ referred to Mayor M~ck. Counci~ ~ettding reported the need of a sewer rod after discussion Councilman Hunt moved to purchase a 30~ feet sewer rod seconded by Councilman Parkerson and carried.
