A. Scott and ~erbe~t Nix appeared before the Council regarding a water line extension to Bet-Her Acres. Water Supt. Kinsaul stated that it would require 700 feet of 6 inch pipe. After discussion Councilman Hunt moved to grant request and to replace the present water pipe from Whatley Corner to John Whidden Corrir with a 6 inch line (a distance of 700 feet) purchase one Steamer Fire Hydrant and one Compound me,er, seconded by Councilman Yeilding and carried. Water Supt. Kinsaul authorized to get prices on the above required material. Action having bee~ postponed on re-zoning Lots 1 to 6 inc. of Block 151, Original Town of Okeechobee from Residential (R-i) to Commercial matter was opened for discussion. Mr. Ozga owner of proper~y was present. Afte~ discussion Councilman Yeilding moved to rezone the above described property from Residential (R-I) to Commercial presenting the following Ordinance and moved its adoption and upon being seconded by Councilma~ Hunt was put to a vote and unanimously adopted~ O DT ANCF. Councilman Hunt moved to accept bridge from Oscar Crabill and Ernest Evans between Wilcox Shores and Okeec~obee Estates, seconded by Councilman Parkereon and unanimously carried. Supt. ~illiams reported the need ~f t~o pumps for sewer plant. Councilman Yeilding moved to purchase necessa~ pumps seconded by Councilman Watf°rd and unanimously carried. Councilman ~tford reported that the street sign posts had arrived and the signs were expected this week. Counci~an Parkerson moved to purchase siren and radio for new police car seconded by Councilman Yeild~ng and unanimously carried. Councilman Parkerson moved to allow R. E. Hamrick adjustment in off set requirement on new building that he a~ticipates to build in Block 209 seconded by Councilman Yeilding and carried. Mayor ~ack discussed a request from Dr. De Palina for a water line extension to his property on east lake froat. The Council instructed the Clerk to write the above na~ed person requesting ~hat he meet with Council at March meeting. Also M~r Mack discussed Peddler's License. Attorney Hendry to investigate present Ordinance~ The Council instructed the Attorney to prepare Ordinance on traffic regulations for study.
