Discuss the water line extension for the Town Motion by Councilman Watford seconded by Councilman Center Apartments - Director of Public Utilities Rubin for discussion to recind the action taken at (Exhibit 4). the last meeting regarding the 12-inch water line and in accordance with section 18-30 of the Code of Ordinances, we require the developer to pay the cost of extending the 12-inch water line. After discussion Councilman Rubin withdrew his second to the motion. Motion died - no second. After futher discussion Motion was made by Coun- cilman Collins seconded by Councilman Watford that the City pay any expense incurred for the size of the pipe, the casing or anything from their current pipe west of 441 to Mr. Gadoury's property line. Councilman Collins: a) Councilman Collins informed the Council of a complaint received concerning benches in the City parks and asked the Police Department to patrol the area. Also the complaintant asked for the City to relocate the benches. Director of Public Works Elders will look into laws and regulations pertain- ing to vagrants, etc. b) Also Councilman Collins asked about the restroom problem at the Time Saver on Hwy 70 West and was told by Administrator Drago that Mr. Purcell was contacted and will take care of the matter. 2. Councilman Thomas: Nothing this meeting 3. Councilman Watford: a) Councilman Watford asked about the Lawson suit and was informed Mr. Lawson had come to town, talk- ed to firemen then left without discussing the sit- uation with City Officials. b) Asked about a permit procedure for Mr. Charles Farmer. 4. -Councilman Rubin: a) Councilman Rubin asked when the balance of City roads would be paved and was told by Sub - Con- tractor Williamson that it would be about three weeks. b) Stated Col. Hamrick to Councilman Rubin that the City Parks were given to the City - not a consoli- dated government. 5. Mayor Chapman: a) Mayor Chapman asked Director of Public Utilties Fortner about the status of requirements involving residents with wells and mandatory hookups and hardship cases and how this situation was handled in other areas. Upon the suggestion of Councilman Collins, Council agreed for Director Fortner to bring to the next meeting a cost analy- sis for the water line extent°lons in that area. Also the City Administrator is to check on FHA pro- cedures for building homes. Director Fortner asked how are we going to pro- vide water to the S.W. section area and was inform- ed by Councilman Watford that the expenses will be paid by the developer according to City Code sec- 18.30. \DJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 4:20 P.M.
