Open Public Hearing for Rezoning Petitions: 1. Consider _Petitions 216-R and 208-S for rezoning from Government Use (GU) to Commercial II (C-II) with Special Exception. Property is located at Block 27, lots 1 through 12 inclusive, (west half of the old football field). County Attorney Ed Curren - Exhibit 1 (City/County Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval). 2. Consider Petitions 218-R, 211-S and Variance 052-V for rezoning from Residential Single Family (R.S.F.) to Residential Mobile Home with Special Exception and Variance. Property is located at Block L; lots 1 through 6, Central Park S/D. Exhibit 2. (City/County Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval) . COUNCILMEtyIBERS /ACTION Councilman Watford stated he would like to discuss an easement in Okeechobee Estates. Mayor Chapman stated there was a pay request from Rock -A -Way and one from Broome to be considered under New Business. Attorney Ed Curren representing the Board of County Commissioners addressed Council concerning the rezoning request. Motion to adopt Resolution No. 88-5 authorizing the City Administrator or his designee to execute requests for temporary closing of state roads - Exhibit 5 2. Motion to approve a partial pay request of $104,456.17 for Rock -A -Way for the sewer lines 3. Motion to approve a partial pay request of $3,930. for professional services rendered by Engineer Jim Broome 4. Update on items of interest to the City by County Commissioner Jack Williamson COUNCIIADMERS/ACTION Motion by Councilman Watford, seconded by Council- man Rubin approving the resolution. Chapman Collins Rubin Thomas Watford Motion carried. Commissioner Williamson discussed the Citizens Advisory Board Committee members to be chosen to work on the new comprehensive plan. Councilman Thomas COUNCILMH2�IBERS /ACTION Mayor Chapman and Clerk Thomas discussed with the Council, plans on removing the finance department from the Clerk's office and personnel changes. Council agreed for the Mayor and Clerk to work together and report their suggestions to the suggestions at the next meeting. Mayor Chapman discussed the sidewalks in the Veteran's Memorial Park, asking Street Director to look into the situation and report his findings to the Council. Councilman Collins asked if the investigation con- cerning the Administrator was completed yet. Police Chief Mobley stated the investigation should be completed by the March 15, 1988 regular meeting at which time they would present their findings. Motion by Councilman Thomas to accept the resignation of City Attorney Jerry Bryant, seconded by Councilman Collins. Chapman Collins Rubin Thomas Watford Motion carried. Council discussed advertising for legal services. Attorney Bryant stated he would continue're- presenting the City until the Council retains another attorney. THOMAS, CITY CLERK COUNCIII MBERS/ACTION Councilman Thomas discussed the alley situation con- cerning Jack Butler and Steve Porter, asking the Street Director speak to Mr. Butler. Councilman Watford made a motion to approve the minutes of the 2-16-88 meeting, seconded by Councilman Collins. Chapman Collins Rubin Thomas Watford Motion carried. Councilman Watford explained the City Council could appeal the decision made on a variance if they wished. He then suggested the Council request the County Commissioners amend the Zoning ordinance to not allow any variances in RMH zoning nor in heighth. Councilman Watford discussed a Code Violation notice that was sent to Danny Entry concerning an easement. Councilman Rubin discussed the meeting of the Central Florida Regional Planning Council. Councilman Rubin commented on the Cable TV Company being sold. The meeting was adjourned at 4:50 P.M. VOTE YES I NO X X X X X ABSENT
