Requested the Department Heads ask the employees to
be as polite as possible to the general public.
Discussed letters being sent stating "the City"
feels or "the City" agrees, when he was not made
aware of the situation.
Resumed the discussion initiated at the January
19th, meeting regarding the City Clerk's office
procedure and revision of the City Charter. A
motion was made by Councilman Watford, seconded by
Councilman Collins to remove the responsibility
for City finances from the Clerk's duties, making
!Lola Parker Acting Finance Director under the
supervision of the City Administrator, until the
Charter revisions could be acc Qmplished. After
some discussion concerning the proper legal pro-
cedure for such a change, the motion and second
was withdrawn pending research by the City's
general counsel.
Requested Council approval to represent the City
in the Legislative Delegation meeting scheduled for
February 17, 1988 on the following items to be
passed:
1. Request to consider any relief to Cities and
Counties on the homestead exemption problem.
2. Review the Consultants Competitive Negotiation
Act.
3. That the Florida Legislature follow a budget
procedure of determining revenues first then
setting the expenditures to meet the revenues.
Council approved the request.
